Aims and Objectives

Aim:

To be an internationally centre for excellence for interdisciplinary research on Cultural Heritages, both material and non-material, in an international context with particular emphasis on cultural heritages connected with the island of Ireland.

Objectives:

[1] To provide a strong and stimulating research environment in which AICH members can develop their existing and new research interests, both individually and collectively.
[2] To nurture young and aspiring scholars
[3] To enable its members to contribute effectively to the University’s achievement of high ratings in their respective RAE sub-panel
[4] To seek external funding for its work from a broad range of appropriate sources
[5] To promote international networking in the field of cultural heritages
[6] To generate innovative interdisciplinary research
[7] To develop applied research of relevance to cultural industries.
[8] To forge links with the local community
[9] To liaise and work with other Faculty Research Institutes
