If you want to understand issues such as global conflict & violence, American foreign policy & current global affairs, then this degree is for you. There are regular visiting USA/EU students at Magee and students can study abroad in the United States during year two. International Politics promotes skills that can equate to careers in foreign services, governmental & intergovernmental organisations such as the UN/EU/UNESCO, conflict resolution organisations and non-governmental organisations such as Amnesty, Oxfam, Concern etc. Other career paths include teaching, civil service, local & national government, media, journalism, business etc.
