Centre for the History of Medicine in Ireland

In 2006, the Welcome Trust for the History of Medicine awarded the University of Ulster and University College Dublin a Strategic Enhancement Award to develop the discipline of medical history in Ireland over the next five years.

Among the aims of the Centre is collaborative research with UCD on the history of medicine in Ireland , the encouragement of individual research projects at graduate and post doctoral level and a series outreach programmes including seminars and conferences. The Centre for the History of Medicine at the University of Ulster is based at the Jordanstown and Belfast campuses and on the Belfield Campus of UCD.
