You will study German language, literature, history and film and can do this with or without having studied German before. At Ulster we have a range of multimedia learning resources (Centre for Excellence in Multimedia Language Learning). Strong emphasis is placed on translating, interpreting and oral communication. You can spend a year abroad as we have Erasmus links with Berlin, Bielefeld, Bremen, Erlangen, Freiburg and Siegen. German is the most important business language in Central and Eastern Europe. Numerous international firms (business & commerce) are based in Germany and career opportunities exist for German graduates in interpreting and translating, as well as in public administration, education and the media.
